French Connection goes into the red!

French Connection has plunged into the red reporting a pre-tax loss of £5.5 million for the year ended January 31.

The £5.5m loss was against a £3.1m profit in the previous year and was blamed on the global economic downturn.

I know we are all a bit sick of hearing this stuff, but I have only reported on this as FC is not only one of our fave shops (middle daughter has loads of FC dresses mostly bought by herself and always in the Sale!) but it is also, so very often, worn by celebs. FC have certain dresses each season that go down a storm and are usually in the £130 - £150 price range and are often seen on red carpets being worn by the likes of Fearne Cotton, Mylenne Klass etc. My daughters comments, when I told her the news was "well they should put their bloody prices down then" trust a teenager to say it as it is!

  1. I hope they keep going but agree with your daughters sentiments about their prices! Their online sales are great for a bargain. I have a gorgeous grey jumper that I bought several years ago, reduced from £60 to £10 and it looks as good now as it did then.

  2. I have to say I'm not the best FC fan. Ever since the FCUK promo finished they haven't been able to do something new. Now there is also the sister lesser known company Great
Plains which is great and cheaper.
