TV Licence News and don't discard the rubbish that comes through the door!
Firstly, just to let you know that the Government has put a hold on the increase in the Television Licence for this year, due to the Recession and secondly, just had some stupid circulars put through the door, or so I thought, until I looked closely (whilst walking to the recycle bin) and saw that a flyer offering mobile foot treatments is giving away a free, no obligation, Foot Spa Treatment and Aromatherapy Foot Massage! Wow, can't be bad, nothing like a good FREE foot rub!

Definition of a Recessionista according to the Washington Post
Frugal living is the new glamorous -- haven't you heard? The haves have finally been granted access to the one club the have-nots had owned exclusively, and they've turned it into a fabulous party. Enter the "recessionista." Whereas a year ago this person may have attended the gala du jour in a brand new designer frock, she's now wearing one recycled from the back of her closet. She is learning to cook at home -- maybe even from vintage Depression-era recipes! And she's conspicuous about her non-conspicuous, discount-store, coupon-carrying consumption. She's a cousin, perhaps, to the type of person who totes a "This is Not a Plastic Bag" bag, except that, rather than crusading sanctimoniously for the environment, she's crusading for her own cultural relevance.
Definition of a Recessionista
It is someone who continues to look chic and fashionable during a recession without spending this years disposable income before she has even earned it. This savvy shopper goes to lower-priced places to find chic and cheap pieces that will update the look of more expensive investment dressing pieces already in her wardrobe. She is also a fierce sales shopper, often waiting for that last mark down on a designer piece before buying, getting one or two items that will last years.
Carrie: "I've spent $40,000 on shoes, and I have no place to live. I will literally be the old woman who lived in her shoes!
