Fashionista's, Frugalista's and Recessionista's alike are all "Swishing" and I am seriously thinking of holding a party myself after checking out the site,
Swishing.org. The site is very informative for the novice "Swisher" and tells you how the concept works, what the rules to swishing are and even has invitations you can download! There is also an events section where you can see up and coming swishing events in your area. Swishing is a great way to get new clothes without the hassle of Ebay fees and traipsing to the Post Office! You can also use parties as a way to raise money for charities, PTA's etc by charging a small entry fee.
As part of the East Festival in London there is a Swishing Event in Old Spitalfields Market (event space)on 7 March 2009 between 1 and 4pm.
There may be a recession going on, but that doesn't mean you have to be stuck with the same old clothes. Just find something you don't wear anymore, take it to Old Spitalfields Market, and swap it for a free fashion find.
Swishing is great for the purse and the environment, it's just so now, darling!
Fashionistas are hunting down the best pieces at swishing events all over the country. Who knows what treasures you might find.
There's time to browse the stalls before the swapping starts.
Make sure you're ready to go – swishers move at speed! In fact, the name swishing comes from the sound of bargain hunters swishing quickly along the clothes rails.
