I often wonder why grown women, and often quite well off ones, have a pay as you go phone. My dear friend K, 3 x chanel handbags, Rolex, Louboutins and a face moisturised with £85 a tub Chantecaille Flower Harmonising Cream, will ring me from Jimmy Choo and ask me to go online and check which shoes I think she should buy and then say "gotta go, nearly out of credit" - what the bloody hell is that all about? Even "pay as you goers" can spend £10 a week on phone credit (= £40 per months so more than the best contracts at about £30 for numerous texts and minutes) but prefer not to be tied to a contract or just don't want another bill by direct debit, but this deal from
Virgin makes having a contract so incredibly worthwhile at only £8.50 per month (18 mth contract)for 100 minutes and 100 texts. It is ideal for those that like the convenience of not having to purchase credit on a regular basis but don't use their mobile that often i.e. light users. The deal also comes with a free phone and there are a few to choose from.
For those of you who do have a pay as you go and a Boots advantage card, I read over at shoestringalley the other day, that she bought her credit in Boots and got advantage points for it, along with a £5 voucher off of No.7 or Ruby & Millie make-up - a great deal if ever I heard one!
